To reopen a utility account that was disconnected for non-payment, you will need to pay the entire past due amount.

There are a few ways to pay:

Service Fees

There is a $25 service fee to have your service reconnected after a disconnect for non-payment.

Pay Online

If you need to make a payment immediately, you can log into your utilities account at coautilities.com and pay with a checking or savings account.

Make a Quick Payment

You can use Quick Payment to pay by credit card, debit card, or digital wallets. Learn more about Quick Payment

Quick Payments are processed by Paymentus – our secure, third-party payment partner. When you make a Quick Payment, you are leaving the City of Austin website. You won’t need to login, but you will need your account number and ZIP code. Paymentus assesses a transaction fee for each Quick Payment. Quick Payments post to your account immediately, and you will receive a confirmation number for your records.

Please note: Austin Energy does not receive any portion of the convenience fee charged for this service. Our payment processing partner, Paymentus, collects this fee to cover processing and transaction costs associated with handling credit and debit card information.

Pay In Person

Pay at one of our Utility Customer Service Centers

Find a Utility Customer Service Center that is convenient to you. Do not use a drop box to pay when the account is disconnected for non-payment.

Pay in Person at an Authorized Pay Station

Find an Authorized Pay Station that is convenient to you.

You will need a copy of your City of Austin Utilities bill on hand to complete the transaction.

After payment has been made, call Customer Care at 512-494-9400 to confirm receipt of the posted payment and request reconnection.
